DATE AND PLACE
The event will be held 30.7-1.8.2004 in
Pori, Yyteri Beach and/or water areas
around Yyteri. Pori is on the west coast
of FINLAND, 250 km from Helsinki. Yyteri
Beach is located 20 km from centre of Pori.
Yyteri Surfcenter is located on the Yyteri
Beach and it lies near the camping area
and hotel.
RULES
The event will be governed by the rules of
:
- The
Racing rules of sailing for 2001-2004
by International Sailing Federation
- Formula
Windsurfing Class Rules by IWA 2003
and amendments of 2004
- Funboard
Racing Rules (FRR) by IWA 2003 and
amendments of 2004
- Notice
of the Race (NOR) and by the Sailing
Instructions given to the participants
and published in the home page by FBA
before the race. The regatta is
designated Category C.
DISCIPLINES AND DIVISIONS
In Nordic Championship event in Yyteri,
two disciplines will be sailed.
Disciplines: Formula Windsurfing (FW),
Freestyle
Divisions:
In FW
Open, Youths, Women and Masters. Age
groups as agreed as in Nordic cup 2004,
and this event is one of the cup events.
Youths are born in 1985 or later and
Masters are born in 1968 or before.
In Freestyle
Open, Youths, Women and Masters. (Same age
groups as in FW)
Number of participants acquired in each
division is along the Funboard Racing
Rules to validate Nordic championship in
disciplines and divisions.
MINIMUM WIND LIMIT
According to the Formula Windsurfing Class
rules and Funboard Class rules.

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
SI will be given to the participant when
signing into the event. SI will be seen on
the Official Notice Board the day before
event and during the event.
EQUIPMENT
The equipment has to comply in Course
racing with Formula Windsurfing Class
Rules by IWA, and in Freestyle with
Funboard Class Rules by IWA.
Boards, equipment and clothing may be
measured or checked before or after any
race at the discretion of the Race
Committee.

The discipline; course racing will be
sailed along the preliminary timetable in
suitable wind conditions and will be
reconsidered daily if needed.
The first possible START on the first race
day will be at 13:00, on the second and
third day at 11:00.
The last possible time for START for
course racing on the first day will be at
18:00, on the second day at 18:00 and on
the last race at 14:30.
The daily skippers meeting will be held at
12:00 on the first day, at 10:00 on the
second and third day. If needed,
additional skippers meeting can be held
during the day.
Three races shall be completed by a
class/division to validate the Nordic
Championship.

Intervals between the starting signals of
the heat will be posted to the ONB. The
heat duration and the signals used will be
set in SI of the race. Competitors will
sail one against one in pairs or in groups
up to 8 determined by the elimination
ladder. The schedule of the heats will be
shown in the ONB 2 (elimination ladder,
movable for freestyle). No more than seven
eliminations shall be run.

notified by the display of the following

HOW TO DRIVE TO PORI AND YYTERI SURFCENTER

Pori is located 250 km from Helsinki, and
getting there you need to follow the road
number 2 if you arrive to Helsinki. This
road will lead you also to Yyteri and when
passing Pori town you still have about 20
km to the beach. The route from the main
road (2) to Yyteri Surfcenter will be
marked by signs along the road!
Arriving from Stockholm to Turku (Abo),
you have approximately 150 km to drive and
following the road up to north through
Rauma-city (located 55km from Pori).
