For the fifth time Andrea Cucchi won the
Italian FW National Championships raced in
Reggio Calabria from Tuesday 5th to
Saturday 9th July.
51 competitors were present in the most
important regatta of Italian saeson , all
the top national sailors and a lot of
windsurfers from Southern Italy, Sicily,
Calabria, Puglia, and Campania, more than
a half of the whole fleet.
Light wind in the first day of the
competition, four races on Wednesday 6th,
three on Thursday7th, and one on Friday
8th. No race in the last day af
competition.
Andrea Cucchi one time again is the best
Italian competitor, and since the first
regatta led the competition. Seven time
first out of the eight races is an
evidence that he has not rivals in 2005
too.2nd place for Alberto Menegatti, ten
year younger than Andrea, five times 2nd
in the races. Third place for Patrik
Diethelm, fourth for Davide Beverino and
fifth for the current European Master
champion Marco Begalli that naturally
achieved the master general results. The
very pleasant Australian grandmaster Tibor
Ferenczy has been the only foreign
competitor, 21th general and 2nd
grandmaster after Carmelo Nici. The first
three competitors are usually training in
the lake of Garda. Thank for the
organization of Magna Grecia Wind Club in
Reggio Calabria and see you again in
Ravenna on Spring 2006.
